Busy and exciting times as we bring to life our new business. For those of you that knew us in previous 'lives' in St. Catharines and Niagara on the Lake, you will remember us most recently as Serendipity on Duke (yarn and beads) and before that The Brick Room Gallery and Queen Street Gallery (Canadian Fine Crafts) ~ here we go again! All very successful businesses that were equally fun to be apart of and each with it's own personality. It's has always fascinated me how a business becomes an entity unto itself with it's own wants and needs, character and charm. We are anticipating the Sheepish Grin Studio will be tremendous fun and are looking forward to all the lovely people who we will be doing business with.
Sheepish Grin Studio is located on Michael's Bay on the south shore of Manitoulin Island, Ontario, Canada. It is the largest island in a fresh water lake in the world. Imagine a place where there are no big box stores or shopping malls, just great Mom and Pop stores with friendly folks ready with a smile. I was pleasantly surprised when we first moved here, when people asked me "How are you today?' they really wanted to know and took the time to listen to my reply. How refreshing!
Sheepish Grin Studio will be featuring our very own hand spun yarn, handwoven clothing, jewelry, and supplies for those who wish to create their own . We are suppliers of Ashford and Louet spinning wheels, looms, fibres and yarn. Fabulous silk from Treenway Silk and then of course we have oodles of beads for your beading pleasure. Our Studio will be open for visitors and shoppers through out the cottage season from 11am to 5pm Tuesday to Sunday (closed Monday) and by appointment the rest of the year. But wait! We are in the process of designing a web site with an on line store. I feel so very 2011! www.sheepishgrinstudio.
I hope you will check back often as we progress with this new adventure. I will try very hard to write weekly up dates and keep you informed.
That's all for now, lots to do...
Dianne
